Mississippi HS girls duo gets scholarships

Leslie Redding and Anna Hokamp of the D Iberville High School (Mississippi) bass fishing team were recently awarded scholarships to Simpson University in California. A local TV station reported that the duo placed 1st in each of its past two tournaments and is now ranked 2nd in the state among all high school teams.
Simpson University is a West Coast powerhouse that took three of the Top 8 places in an FLW-sanctioned tournament at Clear Lake in September. The team s roster includes Austin Rojas (son of Dean) and Sheldon Reese (son of Jimmy).

13 Fishing to sponsor first Pro Circuit event

Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today that 13 Fishing has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the 2021 season-opening Pro Circuit event at Lake Okeechobee, Feb. 11-14.
We are thrilled to welcome 13 Fishing to the MLF sponsor family, said Jim Wilburn, MLF president and CEO. As an angler-centric league, MLF aligns perfectly with 13 Fishing in putting our professional anglers and their needs at the forefront of the sport, both on and off the water.
The 2021 Pro Circuit will feature 154 two-hour airings on network television in a run that includes 24 airings on Outdoor Channel and 130 airings on Sportsman Channel, for a total of 308 hours of programming.
Welcher, Huff align with Missile Baits

Missile Baits announced that it s added Kyle Welcher and Cody Huff to its pro staff for 2021.
Welcher was a Bassmaster Elite Series rookie in 2012 and finished 10th in the Angler of the Year points to earn a berth into the this year s Classic. Huff competed in the 2020 Classic after winning the Bassmaster College National Championship and will compete on the MLF Pro Circuit and Bassmaster Opens this year.
This past year I got to know Kyle Welcher and really like the way he is approaching his fishing career, said Missile owner and Elite Series competitor John Cres. His YouTube channel is growing like crazy and we both work that platform pretty hard.
Sonar: The preseason checklist
Professional anglers have a lot of work to do in preparation for a new season tasks that have nothing to do with catching fish. Entering his third season on the MLF Pro Circuit, Miles Burghoff has come to enjoy most of the process that includes ironing out sponsorship agreements and designing jerseys and boat wraps.
