Haverhill’s newest license commissioner won’t need to come up to speed on procedures and rules when she hears matters for the first time this week.
Up until a year ago Laura Angus served as the city’s assistant city clerk and License Commission clerk and was well known to all of the city’s liquor and automobile sales licensees. She joined the Haverhill City Clerk’s office and immediately began serving the License Commission in April 2014 when she was appointed by Mayor James J. Fiorentini. Last year, Angus changed jobs and became benefit counselor to the Haverhill Retirement Board.

Monday marks the opening of the Haverhill veterans clinic’s new downtown Haverhill location.
In the first of a two-phase plan, primary care associated with the VA Bedford Healthcare System’s Haverhill Community Based Outreach Clinic moves from Merrimack Street to the Medical Arts Center building at 209 Summer St. Chief of Public Affairs Kat Bailey says phase two comes later this year when additional specialties become available.
