2-vehicle collision occurred on Central Road in Apple Valley

A 57-year-old driver of a Mazda 6 was killed in Apple Valley after he crossed into an opposite lane of traffic and crashed into a Jeep Wrangler on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Powhatan and Central roads, the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department said. Deputies, as well as personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
Authorities believe the deceased man, who was headed south on Central Road, crossed into the northbound lane for reasons that are under investigation and collided with the Jeep head-on.

Chicago police are seeking a vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run last year in Logan Square on the Northwest Side.
About 2:50 p.m. Dec. 6, 2020, a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of North Kedzie Avenue, causing him serious injuries, Chicago police said. The driver of the SUV fled the scene after the crash.

Chicago police is searching for the driver of a van that fatally struck a man last week in Roseland on the Far South Side.
The 30-year-old was working on the street about 3 p.m. April 15 in the 11300 block of South Wentworth Avenue when a passing green Nissan Quest struck him, Chicago police said.
The man died of his injuries, police said.
The driver of the van left the scene at a high rate of speed without stopping or helping the man, police said.
