ISLAMABAD: A senior Pakistani official has said that the country was working to develop its own single-dose coronavirus vaccine with China s support, a media report said on Wednesday.
Executive Director of National Institute of Health (NIH), Major General Aamer Ikram, said this during a briefing to the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on National Health Services on Tuesday, The Express Tribune reported.
“We are going to make a single-dose vaccine for Covid-19. We conducted the clinical trial of Chinese Covid-19 vaccine CanSinoBio in Pakistan,” he said.

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: Pakistan and China on Monday said they were proud of their friendship and the year 2021 would be even more significant as both countries mark 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong were speaking at Nur Khan Air Base, where the first batch of 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrived through a special PAF flight.
The foreign minister thanked the leadership and people of China for sending the gift of Sinopharm vaccine to Pakistan to fight the pandemic. He added that the vaccine had arrived right at the time when Pakistan was grappling with the second wave of COVID-19, his office said in a statement.

Pakistan receives 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday received a batch of 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong at a ceremony held at the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.
The vaccine arrived from Beijing early morning through a special flight.
In his remarks on the occasion, the prime minister thanked the leadership and people of China for sending the gift of the Sinopharm vaccine to Pakistan to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foreign minister added that the vaccine had arrived right at the time when Pakistan was grappling with the second wave of COVID-19.
