When the opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine reaches the Washington Nationals, expect manager
Dave Martinez to be in line. In a video conference call with reporters on Tuesday, Martinez said that he will “definitely be on that waiting list and welcome” the vaccine.
D.C. received its first shipment of the vaccine on Monday. Those doses went to healthcare personnel. Next in line will be residents of long-term care facilities, while the general public will likely need to wait until the spring for the vaccine to be broadly distributed.

Some Major League Baseball owners are reportedly pushing for a shortened 2021 season to provide players enough time to receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Per
USA Today s Bob Nightengale, a contingent of team owners and executives would like the 2021 season to be delayed until May, even if it means shortening the season to 140 or fewer games to ensure all players can get vaccines before they report to spring training.
Nightengale did note that the Major League Baseball Players Association is in favor of playing a full 162-game schedule after believing it proved a year ago that teams can safely adapt to protocols.

Major League Baseball owners and the MLB Players Association are at odds on a start date for the 2021 season. The union wants to start on time while the owners want the season delayed so all players can receive the coronavirus vaccine before reporting, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported.
