The ACSC is calling for ACSC Partners to help pilot the Critical Infrastructure Uplift Program (CI-UP). CI-UP will help protect Australia’s essential services from cyber threats by raising the security levels of critical infrastructure organisations. CI-UP is part of the Australian Signals Directorate’s Cyber Enhanced Situational Awareness and Response (CESAR) package and compliments the Australian Government’s ongoing work to protect critical infrastructure security through proposed amendments to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018.

Comparatively, in 2011 the year I started teaching at the U of M there were 158.
That’s more than three times as many and one of the highest numbers in North America (University of Saskatchewan hasn’t released this year s numbers yet but it is often slightly higher than the U of M).
Chinese Lease of Port of Darwin Open to Review: Australian PM
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has not ruled out reviewing the controversial 99-year lease of the Port of Darwin to a Chinese-backed entity.
“If there is advice from the Defence Department or our security agencies that change their view about the national security implications of any piece of critical infrastructure,” Morrison told reporters. “We have legislation now which is dealing with critical infrastructure.”
“You can expect me as prime minister to take that advice very seriously and act accordingly.”
Morrison was in Darwin announcing a substantial $747 million upgrade to four military facilities in northern Australia.
