NFL agent David Mulugheta took to social media this week to express how he thinks Texas Longhorns donors who threatened players over their “Eyes of Texas” protest should be forced to forfeit their stadium suite seats come time for college football kickoff this year.
I’ve said this before & will say it again. The “donors” have every right to feel this way. If they are so offended please release these sold out suites at the games so we, who are not offended, can scoop them up. The “Eyes of Texas” controversy reached a boiling point last summer for the Texas Longhorns.
So much so that when players at first protested the song, a few members of Texas’ alumni circles reached out to some players to make threats, according to recent social media posts from Texas junior linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and former safety Caden Sterns.
That’s serious stuff.
When we put out the statement, I received many hateful things including death threats! But that never bothered me.it was the promises that were broken and the fact that they TRIED to strip us of our freedom. No where in my NIL does it say “you have to sing” to play here.
