A California-based biotech company has relocated its headquarters to Grand Forks.
On Jan. 1, SafetySpect Inc. moved to UND’s Center for Innovation. The company established an office there last summer, as part of the North Dakota Bioscience Association (BioND). The Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation has been working with BioND and SafetySpect Inc. on the transition.

A UND administrator and a developer are the two newest members of a Grand Forks panel that considers public business incentives.
Grand Forks City Council members voted unanimously on Monday, Dec. 21, to appoint Amy Whitney, the director at the university’s Center for Innovation, and Russel Crary, a real estate agent and developer at Crary Real Estate, to the city’s Growth Fund Committee, which gives preliminary consideration to measures that could help businesses set up shop or expand in Grand Forks.
