On April 8, 2020, BC Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that, due to increasing COVID-19 cases across BC, the province was adopting a new public health order permitting WorkSafeBC inspectors to expedite closures of workplaces where three or more employees have tested positive for COVID-19 and transmission has been confirmed at the workplace. The announcement indicated that a closure order may be for 10 days or potentially a longer period, and a list of closed businesses will be made available to the general public. Canadian Securities Regulators On Track To Publish Final Amendments To Enhance Protection Of Older And Vulnerable Clients Date

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is on track to publish the final amendments that will enhance the protection of older and vulnerable clients across Canada, in early summer 2021.
CSA staff expect the final amendments will be similar to the changes proposed in March 2020 and come into force on December 31, 2021, subject to all necessary approvals.
The amendments are part of the CSA’s strategic goal to enhance investor protection by providing registrants with tools and guidance to address situations involving potential financial exploitation or diminished mental capacity, when working with older and vulnerable clients.
