Head coach Adam Hughes and Maryland women’s basketball will look to put an 0-2 season start in the rear view as its begins the toughest stretch of the season against No. 7 Minnesota.
“The pressure is on, but I think that’s good in a lot of ways,” Hughes said. “Rather than taking our time and slowly working into it, we get to get it going.”
Two five-set matches against Ohio State ended in heartbreak for the Terps last weekend. Friday’s season opener saw the Terps blow a 2-1 set lead, while on Saturday, Maryland had a comeback of its own, only to fall in the fifth set due to a handful of errors.

Kendrick Green is heading to the next level.
One of the nation’s best offensive lineman announced Tuesday that he will enter the NFL Draft.
Green was a 2020 USA Today Second Team All-American and a consensus First Team All-Big Ten pick.
“It has been an honor to wear the Orange & Blue for the last four years and be a part of the Fighting Illini family. The memories we have made will last forever,” Green said in a statement. “I want to thank all my family and friends in Peoria for getting me here. Without all of their support, I would not be where I am today. Thank you to Coach Smith, the coaches, and all the staff at Illinois. They made me a better man and football player from the minute I stepped on campus. It has been nothing short of a blessing. With that being said, after discussing with my family I’d like to announce that I have decided to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio
As with every other Ohio State game this season, I watched Saturday’s Big Ten Championship Game between the Buckeyes and Northwestern from my basement while Nathan Baird and Stephen Means covered it live on the scene. I’ll take you through the game, a “mature” writer in a weird year watching the Buckeyes chase another conference title and another playoff spot.
Three hours before kickoff: Illinois announces Bret Bielema as its new coach. I’ve wanted Bielema back in the Big Ten since he left Wisconsin at the end of the 2012 season. He was a bad fit and a big failure at Arkansas, but he’s perfect for the Big Ten West, because he’s a good coach and a better villain.
