LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) -
Good Tuesday morning! There’s one way and one way only to describe how it feels out there: COLD. How cold you ask? Believe it or not, we are colder than the lower half of Alaska. As of 8am, Anchorage- 20°, Bethel and Juneau- 17°, Fairbanks- 5°. For us: Lawton- -7°, Duncan- -9°, Altus- -2°, Wichita Falls- -3°, Crowell- 4°. Radar is clear and quite now but another winter storm is already quickly approaching! Due to extreme cold, dangerous wind chills and more accumulating snow today and tomorrow are First Alert Weather Days.
Temperatures will fall quickly this evening and that will lead to a freeze on all surfaces into Tuesday morning so once again it will be best to stay indoors until late Tuesday afternoon, and even then we may not get above freezing. Lows tonight fall into the lower and middle teens!
After a warm and sunny spring-like day, temperatures will plummet overnight to the upper 20s and lower 30s. We'll get another dose of sunshine Wednesday, but it'll be much colder. Temperatures will struggle to reach 40 and will feel more like the 20s and 30s with N/NE winds at 10 to 15 mph.
