The Center for First-generation Student Success has selected Edmonds College as a member of the 2021-22 First-gen Forward cohort, in recognition of the college’s support of first-generation students. First-gen Forward is the nation’s first recognition program acknowledging higher education institutions for their commitments to first-generation student success. Selected institutions receive professional development, community-building experiences, and a first look at the center’s research and resources.

La Salle University has been named a 2021-22 First-Gen Forward Institution by the Center for First-Generation Student Success, a national recognition of La Salle’s firm commitment to first-generation college students.
La Salle is among a select few colleges and universities nationally to have been selected to the Center’s third-annual First-Gen Forward cohort, the nation’s preeminent program acknowledging institutions for their efforts to support and improve the experiences and outcomes of first-generation students.

Engagement, which is a stand-alone priority area in the university’s current strategic plan, will be embedded in each of the four key areas of the new plan.
Members of the development teams will be appointed by the co-chairs and will include:
Student representation in consultation with team leads and Undergraduate Student Government and Graduate and Professional Student Government,
Faculty representation in consultation with team leads and Faculty Senate,
Staff representation in consultation with team leads and Staff Council, and
Dean representation in consultation with the Council of Deans.
Development of the plan will take place over the course of 2021 and during the first half of 2022, with the goal of implementing the Strategic Plan 2022–2027 on July 1, 2022.
Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s First Saluki Center has once again earned national recognition, receiving the 2021 Silver Excellence Award in the First-generation Student Success category from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators/Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
