Once vaccines are widely available, the town will offer a participating vaccine program.
Mr. Temple said he doesnât want to see Covid-19 in Oxford because he has seen what it has done to people. He said he understands the vaccine isnât for everyone, but he plans to get it as soon as itâs available. Oxfordâs first responders have already inquiried on their availability to get the vaccine, the first selectman noted.
Oxford has had a total of 338 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and saw a significant increase after the Thanksgiving holiday. Connecticutâs positivity rate continues to fluctuate in the most recent weeks due to holiday gatherings. About 166 out of 169 Connecticut towns, including Oxford, are at the red alert level, the highest of the stateâs four alert levels.
