First City Monument Bank Limited has appointed Mrs Yemisi Edun as acting managing director of the bank after the Managing Director, Adam Nuru, decided to go on leave.
A source from the bank told our correspondent on Wednesday that Nuru was not forced but volunteered to go on leave to enable the bank to investigate the paternity allegations against him.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has appointed Yemisi Edun as its acting Managing Director.
The development followed the paternity scandal involving its current MD, Adam Nuru, and an ex-employee of the bank, Moyo Thomas.
In an official statement on Wednesday, the bank said, In line with normal corporate practice, Mrs Yemisi Edun is acting as the Managing Director of FCMB in the interim period while Mr Adam Nuru is on leave. She has not been appointed as the substantive Managing Director. Thank you.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has named Yemisi Edun as its acting managing director following Adam Nuru’s paternity scandal.
Before her appointment which is subject to confirmation by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Edun held the position of executive director.
The bank had in a public notice on Tuesday said Nuru proceeded on leave. It also said the move would guarantee the sanctity of the investigation against allegation of unethical behaviour against him.
Nuru is being accused of having two children with a former FCMB employee Moyo Thomas who was married to Tunde Thomas. The alleged relationship, his accusers say, led to the death of Mr Thomas.
