Maire Tecnimont starts preliminary work on renewable power-to-fertilizer plant in Kenya

Maire Tecnimont announced that its subsidiaries MET Development, Stamicarbon and NextChem have started work on a renewable power–to-fertilizer plant in Kenya. MET Development has signed an agreement with Oserian Development Company for the development of the plant at the Oserian Two lakes Industrial Park located on the southern banks of Lake Naivasha, 100 km North of Nairobi. Oserian Two Lakes Industrial Park is a new 150-hectare sustainable development in Nakuru County. Its aim is to provide a safe landing spot for vision-aligned businesses and investors and become a demonstration case for East Africa’s sustainable industrialization. The Industrial Park is privately owned and operated by Oserian Development Company and is the anchor to a 7,500-hectare mixed-use development, called Oserian Two Lakes, which comprises horticulture, industry & commerce, residential, tourism and wildlife conservation across three valleys.

Danakali begins early works program for Colluli Potash Project with reverse osmosis plant underway The RO plant, which will make fresh water available at site, is an essential part of the project and early works program, says chairman. The RO Plant is expected to be ready for shipment in 3-4 months. Danakali Ltd (ASX:DNK) (LON:DNK) (OTCMKTS:SBMSF) (FRA:SO3) has issued instructions to WEC Projects in South Africa to complete the reverse osmosis (RO) plant manufacturing and function testing ready for shipment to the company’s Colluli Potash Project in Eritrea. WEC has confirmed that manufacturing of the RO Plant will be complete and it will be ready for shipment to Massawa in Eritrea in 3-4 months.

HIGHLIGHTS • Successful locked-cycle test ( LCT ) results further support the Cinovec project s credentials to initially produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. • European Metals has demonstrated that Cinovec battery grade lithium carbonate can be easily converted into lithium hydroxide monohydrate with a commonly utilised liming plant process. • Six LCTs were planned but testwork was stopped after four cycles as the main process stream compositions had successfully stabilised. • Battery grade lithium carbonate was produced in every LCT with lithium recoveries of up to 92.0% achieved in the four LCTs performed. • The LCTs tested zinnwaldite concentrate from the southern part of Cinovec, representative of the first five years of mining.
