The two made history on November 7 when they beat Donald Trump in a bitter election that put him in a small club of presidents who served only one term. Harris on that day became the country s first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president-elect. For changing the American story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are TIME s 2020 Person of the Year, wrote Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal.

Even the nomination list is unconventional. 1. President-elect Joe Biden – He received more popular votes than any other candidate in history, and he did it with a Black female running mate! 2.  President Donald Trump – who still hasn’t conceded, 30+ days after the election was called for his opponent. 3. Frontline Health Care Workers and Dr. Anthony Fauci – dang that’s like 1,000s of potential “persons of the year”. I agree that doctors and nurses on the frontline are heroes for putting their lives on the line to save others. But the verdict is still out on Dr. Fauci and his involvement in the Wuhan lab that is accused of releasing the virus to begin with. I wish Time would have put the Frontline workers in a category by themselves.
