Letter: Tell lawmakers to vote no on Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards

Letter: Tell lawmakers to vote no on Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards Rockford Register Star Illinois is literally about to mandate that every one of its licensed teachers adopt progressive political orthodoxy and impart that ideology to students,” Stanley Kurtz, senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, wrote for the National Review. “The entire Illinois teacher corps will be effectively forced into political re-education and compelled to turn their classes into woke indoctrination sessions.” “Critical Race Theory – alleged systemic racism, gender discrimination, systems of oppression, white supremacy, etc” will be mandated to be taught. Many Illinois schools are failing to teach the 3Rs successfully. During an online news conference Monday, House Republicans said the proposed rule is a step away from the three R’s and from supporting a profession which needs more good people. “Now we are going to make teachers prove they are ‘woke’ or ‘progressive’ and take their licenses away if they don’t prescribe to a particular political philosophy,” said State Rep. Adam Neimerg (pictured) (R-Dieterich).
