Former All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has implored the Canterbury Bulldogs to own their current struggles as the club looks to turn its fortunes around.
The Bulldogs have been in an underwhelming period for the past few years, having not qualified for playoff football since 2016 and ending the season in second to last a year ago.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Hansen, who joined the club as a high performance consultant late last year, said the slump the Bulldogs were currently in wasn t something that could be changed overnight.

Former All Blacks sevens player Rocky Khan, who has paternal links to Fiji and Rotuma has surfaced on to the rugby pitch again.
This time, the first Fijian of Indian descent to represent New Zealand in 7s rugby, is the co-coach of the Moana Pasifika women’s team that is playing in this weekend’s Takiwhitu Tuturu rugby sevens tournament in Wellington. It started yesterday.
The squad includes players with links to Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands, reported RNZ.

Players can switch their international allegiance by participating in Olympic sevens qualifying events, provided they have a passport for a second country and have completed a stand down period of at least three three years.
Tamanivalu moved to New Zealand as a teenager to attend Saint Kentigern College, before going on to represent the Chiefs and Crusaders in Super Rugby.
Tamanivalu played three tests for the All Blacks in 2016 but said he would love the chance to represent his Fijian heritage. I think I still have a lot to offer for the Fiji team as well if I m (selected). I m still young, I m only 29, and I think I can still play test rugby, he said.
Ex-Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson will be in charge of Bay of Plenty this season.
Former All Blacks midfielder Daryl Gibson will coach Bay of Plenty in the national provincial championship. Gibson, who played 19 tests between 1999 and 2002, has been named as the new Steamers coach as a replacement for Clayton McMillan who is now in charge of the Chiefs and will assist Warren Gatland when he returns to duty next year. Although the 46-year-old Gibson has not worked as a head coach since leaving the Waratahs in 2019, he coached the Super Rugby club’s team for 4 seasons, he worked as an assistant with the Fiji national team last year.
