At Congress big meet, Kamal Nath makes old vs new reference
A five-hour-long meeting at 10 Janpath, but a question that many were expecting would be answered in the meeting still remained unanswered. The question was if Rahul Gandhi will become the president of the Congress party again.Â
The meeting was attended by interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and UP GS Incharge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Bhupender Singh Hooda, Manish Tiwari, Shahsi Tharoor, Vivek Tankha and Prithvi Raj Chavan amongst those who wrote the letter. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Kamal Nath, P Chidambaram, Ashok Gahlot, Ambika Soni ,Pawan Kumar Bansal, Harish Rawat, Ajay Maken, Bhakt Charan Das and AK Antony were among others present in the meeting.

New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs on Wednesday walked out of a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence after its chairman Jual Oram of the BJP stopped him from raising the issue of Chinese aggression along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.
Party leaders said Rahul wanted to discuss whether national security was in jeopardy with the Chinese forces occupying Indian territory in Ladakh. Since the standing committee meetings are held in camera, nobody is ready to speak on record, lest he is hauled up for breach of privilege. But, from all accounts, the confrontation took place during a discussion on the uniforms of the Army, Navy and Air Force in the presence of the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.

New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS): Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday walked out of a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence, accusing the panel of wasting time by discussing uniforms instead of Chinese aggression and national security, sources said.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi tried to raise the issue of Chinese agression and better equipping the soldiers on the borders with China in Ladakh, but he was not allowed to speak by the committee s Chairman Jual Oram.
The sources claimed that the committee was discussing the uniforms of the three armed forces in the presence of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, when Rahul Gandhi tried to intervene saying that the time of the panel was being wasted by discussing uniforms instead of Chinese agression on the borders and equipping the armed forces personnel in a better way.
