Former Tottenham Hotspur star Victor Wanyama says life was tough under Jose Mourinho before his departure last year.
The Kenyan midfielder was vital figure at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, as he went on to make 97 appearances following his move from Southampton four years ago.
However, the 29-year-old saw his game time limited once Mourinho took over and reveals the club also rejected the chance for him to leave sooner. Life was tough under Mourinho. I was not playing, Wanyama told Kenyan TV. I was injured for some time, and when I came back, I could not get a chance to play. I went to see the coach (Mourinho), and told him I needed to play.

Arsenal transfer chief, Edu, is close to sealing a transfer deal to sign highly-rated teenage striker, Tiago Tomas, from Sporting Lisbon.
According to The Sun, Edu is in direct talks with Sporting’s director of football, Hugo Viana and is close to finalising a deal for Tomas.
The report added that with the current economic climate Arsenal are said to be hopeful of landing Tomas,18, for around £20m.
Edu has made it clear he does not want to repeat the same mistake the Gunners made when they failed to sign Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 with Tomas.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, has predicted how clubs will finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.
Redknapp feels Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will win the Premier League and Liverpool will finish in the second position.
According to him, Manchester United will finish in the third position, while Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur will take the fourth position.
When asked which teams will finish in the top-four position this season, Redknapp was quoted by Metro as saying: “Top four? Manchester City or Liverpool [will win it].
“I suppose Manchester City are favourites. I was with Liverpool, but I think Manchester City probably. There are two runners Man City and Liverpool and then Manchester United and Tottenham.
