Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 1 (ANI): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and the present Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Devendra Fadnavis on Monday greeted the people of Nashik as the city s metro model has been adopted as a national project in Union Budget 2021-21. Congratulations Nashik! Congratulations Nagpur! We are happy that the Government of India appreciates our innovative approach and accepts a model of Nashik Metro as a National Project. Not only this, but the Nashik Metro model will be implemented in other Indian cities too, said Fadnavis on Twitter.

Ten infants were killed in a fire that broke out at a special newborn care unit of the district hospital in Maharashtra s Bhandara on Saturday. The fire broke out around 2am.
Officials said 17 infants, aged one to three months, were admitted in the ward at the time of the tragedy. However, the fire brigade was able to save seven of them.
The Maharashtra government has ordered an investigation into the matter, with home minister Anil Deshmukh rushing to the district to take stock of the situation.

Briefing the media, Fadnavis said, It is a very sad and unfortunate development that a good officer like him had to request for a central deputation. He is a good officer but he was frustrated due to the continuous interference from the government, particularly the state home ministry. Though the police department falls under the home ministry, we should provide some independence to such a crucial department for its day-to-day function, added the Bharatiya Janata Party leader.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 28 (ANI): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in the assembly Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday alleged that certain vested interests have colluded with the aim of extending benefits to a handful of parties at the expense of the state exchequer .
In his letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis wrote that There seems to be a systematic method devised to give windfall benefit to said real estate developers by fragmented and prejudiced reduction of ready reckoner of some of their self-owned and interest plots to the extent of 70 per cent of the existing ready reckoners rates.
