Becky Lauridsen
As a Craig, Colorado native, Becky Lauridsen has shined a light on the possibilities a degree from Panhandle State can open. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2010.
Lauridsen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Founder of IOME. She has a passion for helping people be the best versions of themselves and founded a company that would be an asset for her clients mental health.
She explained, It s an I Owe Me instead of an I Owe You, offering Guilt-Free Self-Care by providing discounted self-care services and products for our Community members. Each month, IOME offers a self-care blueprint for your mind, body, and soul. It s the perfect way to prevent burnout and other negative emotions.

AUGUSTA Capital Area Technical Center has selected its Professionals of the Month for December, according to a news release from the center.

Mietek Gawron of Wayne and is a senior from Maranacook Community High School in Readfield enrolled in the Automotive Technology program for the second year.
He decided to take the program for a second year because he has liked how the program allows him to learn by actually doing and having real life experiences. When he is not in school, he can be found working on one of his four vehicles that he owns.

Louis Sims
Louis Sims is a Hobart, Oklahoma native with a life full of success in several different industries. He attended Panhandle State on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business in 1956.
After graduating from Panhandle State, Sims was enlisted for three years in Army Intelligence, which started a decorated career of service. Louis finished with the Army and became a Special Agent for the U.S. Secret Service. He served and protected 6 U.S. Presidents starting with John Fitzgerald Kennedy and finished under Ronald Reagan.
He retired from the Secret Service, continuing into a career in the oil industry with Pennzoil. He eventually earned his second retirement as Vice President of Pennzoil. Louis wasn’t quite ready to leave the workforce after the second retirement and became a Vice President for Career Enserch Exploration in the energy industry.

Our Alumni Spotlight for the month of December shines on Ms. Tylar Phillips. Ms. Phillips is a native of Marshall, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Wiley College in 2019.
Tylar currently resides in Denton, Texas where she attends the University of North Texas. She will complete her Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Local Government Administration in August 2021. Tylar is employed full-time with the Denton County Election Services as an absentee ballot clerk. She also works part time as an intern for Impact Strategies Political Advocacy Firm under the supervision of Principal and CEO Angela Rye, Esq.
