Mr Sutherland was charged with two counts of misconduct in relation to public office in December 2019. His case returned to the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, but he did not attend. Allan Sutherland became Moreton Bay mayor in 2008. He was suspended when he was charged and later quit.
