Forward Madison, Featherstone Flamingos teaming up for Jesse Owens-inspired track jacket February 28, 2021 7:40 PM Stephen Cohn Updated: MADISON, Wis. Forward Madison FC has teamed up with one of its supporters’ groups for a Jesse Owens-inspired track jacket in honor of Black History Month. The Featherstone Flamingos are an inclusive supporters’ group of the club that celebrates Black culture. The jacket commemorates several races Owens ran at Breese Stevens Field, where Forward Madison plays, in 1938. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the jacket will go to YWCA Madison. Owens famously also won four gold medals at the 1938 Berlin Olympics. You can find the jacket on the team’s online store.

Aaron Molloy Ready To Win A Trophy With Forward Madison FC

The 24-year-old transferred to Forward Madison FC of USL League One, the third tier in the American professional soccer pyramid. Molloy, affectionately dubbed the “ Irish Messi,” is known for his ability to pick apart the other teams’ defenses with his ball control and eye for the through ball. Madison coach Carl Craig wants him to be no different than the tenacious Nittany Lion was named “When I spoke to the new coach, the culture that he was creating, the environment he wanted to set in Madison was something I wanted to be a part of,” Molloy said. “He wants me in the heart of midfield. He wants me to be the ball-playing midfielder, breaking lines with my passes.”
