Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra to film virtual spring season at the Michigan Theater

ANN ARBOR – The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra will be releasing performances recorded live this season at the Michigan Theater.
Starting this week, A2SO’s full string orchestra will perform three concerts at the iconic theater, which will be available for on-demand streaming through June 30.
The performances will feature additional virtual chamber concerts and will be paired with takeout meals from local restaurants.
“This is a moment for celebration,” A2SO Executive Director Tyler Rand said in a statement. “The symphony has been unable to gather a group of this size for almost a year now, and we’ve all been missing making live symphonic music in our venues.”

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), a national effort to help raise awareness about teen dating violence. Throughout the month, Empower Yolo and other organizations nationwide are coming together to highlight the need to educate young people about dating violence, teach healthy relationship skills and prevent the cycle of abuse.
Dating violence is more common than people think, and girls are particularly vulnerable to experiencing violence in their relationships. One in three girls in the U.S. is a victim of physical, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner, a figure that far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence.

Rosenzweig has been an educator for 38 years and has taught elementary, middle school and high school students in Mexico and throughout California over the course of her career.
A certified trainer in the Orange County Department of Education’s Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design), she works throughout Northern California to bring quality professional development to teachers with a focus on working with students whose native language is not English. She received a special education teaching credential and a master’s degree from Loyola Marymount University.
