When Christina M. Tedesco received word about the pay cut last fall, her first reaction was, “Oh my God, I have to call my coworker Mark.” Many of her colleagues at the Harvard Art Museums, where Tedesco works as an attendant, do not have computers or cannot access their work emails from home. She had to call them to break the news: Harvard had decided to cut their wages already the lowest of any union at the University by 30 percent, and she wasn’t sure for how long museum employees would continue to be paid at all. Soon afterward, panic set in. “It’s very unsettling to not know if you really have a job or not, if the museum is going to lay you off in a few months,” Tedesco says. “It creates a constant environment of anxiety.”

Pioneer Charter School of Science II seniors receive early acceptance letters from Cornell, Stanford, and UPenn

Wicked Local Pioneer Charter School of Science II in Saugus issued the following press release Pioneer Charter School of Science II (PCSS II) announced this week that three of its high school seniors have received early acceptance letters to top universities across the country. Misato Chinchilla, Claire Kafeero and Norah Asemota from the graduating class of 2021 have been accepted to Cornell University and University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. Misato Chinchilla, 18, of Lynn received her early acceptance letter from Cornell University, where she will pursue her studies in atmospheric sciences. Chinchilla said of her time at PCSS II,  “My high school experience was challenging but full of fun. I gained lifelong friends along the way and had the honor of meeting wonderful teachers who not only taught me new knowledge but also served as mentors to me.”
