The Recorder - One of the safest places to work

One of the safest places to work Published: 12/11/2020 3:12:07 PM Modified: 12/11/2020 3:11:55 PM Northfield had zero Covid cases, Warwick zero, Bernardston “less than 5.” Yet Pioneer Valley Regional School District shut down schools. Why? The teachers’ union. The CDC has been explicit that schools are not significant sources of COVID spread and the Pioneer Valley Regional School District administration made heroic measures to keep the schools safe for in-school teaching. Teachers work in one of the safest places anyone works in. What if the unions representing health care workers closed down hospitals to protect their members? Instead they risk their health, sanity, and lives to care for others, including teachers.
