New Delhi: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on Friday signed an MoU with a Japanese firm for track work of the 237-km stretch between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.
The Japan Railway Track Consultant Co. Limited (JRTC) will provide the detailed design and drawing of major HSR track components like RC track bed, track slab arrangement and continuous welded rail (CWR) forces and other essentials to the railways, according to a statement.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on Friday (12 March) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Japanese firm for track works of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.
The NHSRCL is the implementing agency for the 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, also known as the bullet train project.
The agency signed the MoU with Japan Railway Track Consultant Company (JRTC) for the designs of High-Speed Rail track works for the T2 package (237 km between Vadodara to Vapi in Gujarat) of the project.

Bullet trains are expected to run at 320 km per hour.
New Delhi: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on Saturday (March 6) said that it has opened two technical bids for construction or building of bridges for the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor in the state of Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Nine companies have participated in technical bids for construction or building of bridges.

The corporation has moved the HC for permission to cut 21,997 mangroves in Thane, Mumbai, and Palghar districts to make way for the project.
Its lawyers said the number of trees to be removed was reduced by more than half from the original target of 53,467.
A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish S Kulkarni was hearing plea by the NHSRCL when the NGO, on Monday, raised objections and said the corporation cannot use explosives for construction in the prohibited area.
It said any relaxation ought not to be granted and questioned the lack of any study on survival rate of saplings to be planted as a compensatory measure.
