It names Republic TV CEO, ex-COO and former BARC CEO and managing partner
The Mumbai police on Monday filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Television Rating Point (TRP) manipulation case against officials from the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) and employees of the ARG Outlier Private Limited.
The chargesheet runs into 3,600 pages and names Republic TV chief executive officer (CEO) Vikas Khanchandani, former chief operating officer (COO) Romil Ramgarhia and former BARC CEO and managing partner Partho Dasgupta.
It states “Mr. Khanchandani illegally increased the TRP through dual promotional and helped to gain more revenue to the channel.”
Mr. Ramgarhia and Mr. Dasgupta conspired with each other to rig the data of random sampling of 40 weeks. They misused their position to deceive the advertisers and common people about TV channel viewers.
TRP manipulation case: India Today group CFO summoned in Mumbai by ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned India Todayâs Group CFO for questioning in connection with the alleged Television Rating Points (TRP) manipulation racket. He has been asked to appear in Mumbai, confirmed a senior ED officer.
The EDâs Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) is based on the case filed by Mumbai Police. An ECIR is the equivalent of a police First Information Report (FIR).
On October 8, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh claimed to have unearthed the alleged case of TRP manipulation and the alleged involvement of several channels. He had also set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case.

Mumbai: A Mumbai court, while rejecting the bail plea of Broadcast Audience Research Council s (BARC) former CEO Partho Dasgupta, has observed that he played a vital role in the alleged Television Rating Points (TRP) manipulation scam.
The court passed the order on 4 January and a copy of it was made available on Wednesday. Dasgupta was arrested by Mumbai Police last month. Chief metropolitan magistrate Sudhir Bhajipale on Monday rejected his bail plea.
