Mumbai: Suspended Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Waze, arrested by the NIA in the case of an explosives-laden SUV found near the Antilia building at Mumbai s Cumballa Hill and the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran, was on Tuesday (May 11) dismissed from police service.
The order terminating Waze s service was issued by Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale, PTI quoted a spokesperson of the city police as saying. A 1990-batch officer of the Maharashtra cadre, Waze (49), also known as an encounter cop , was suspended after his arrest by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the SUV-cum-murder case on March 13.

Suspended Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze, arrested by the NIA in the case of an explosives-laden SUV found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house and the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran, was on Tuesday dismissed from police service, an official said.
The order terminating Vaze’s service was issued by Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale, said a spokesperson of the city police.
A 1990-batch officer of the Maharashtra cadre, Vaze, also known as an “encounter cop”, was earlier suspended after his arrest by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the SUV-cum-murder case on March 13.
“API Sachin Hindurao Vaze has been dismissed from police service. Order has been issued today under Provision of 311(2)(B) Constitution of India by Commissioner of Police, Greater Mumbai,” a top official said.

Param Bir Singh, DCP Parag Manere and at least 26 other police personnel based on a complaint given by police inspector Bhimrao Ghadge.
Ghadge, who is now posted in the Akola police control room, has alleged that when he was posted with the Thane police, several officers there under Singh had indulged in various acts of corruption. Ghadge was posted in Thane police commissionerate during 2015-2018.
Ghadge has levelled a series of corruption charges against Singh and other officers. These charges are from the period when the former Mumbai CP was posted with the Thane police. A total of 27 sections, including criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 1989 have been applied against the accused persons.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale has instructed personnel working in the field to wear double masks and face shields to protect themselves from the COVID-19 infection, an official said on Tuesday.
The top cop s instructions have come in the light of police checkpoints set up across the city to crackdown on unnecessary movement of people amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Commissioner of Police (operation) S Chaitanya said.
The police have been monitoring the movement of vehicles and people at many places, including the exit and entry points of the city, to ensure strict implementation of the COVID-19 curbs, the official said.
