Naval Hospital Pensacola tapped to be 1 of 16 COVID vaccine sites in country Jim Thompson, Northwest Florida Daily News PENSACOLA Even before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday it would grant emergency use authorization to the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and German partner BioNTech, the Department of Defense (DoD) was announcing its plans for a pilot program to distribute the vaccine to military and other DoD personnel. Under the plan, Naval Hospital Pensacola will be one of 16 distribution sites across the country. The hospital is standing by for additional guidance from the DoD, according to Marcus Henry, the hospital s public affairs officer.
