The May ballot included candidates for office in various special districts throughout southern Oregon, but the perhaps the most consequential items are ballot measures, which may effect tax rates and services for areas throughout a given county. Here s a rundown of measures on the ballot for this election by county, with vote results as of Wednesday morning:

Yes: 62.86% /
No: 37.12%)
A yes vote authorizes RVTD to continue imposing a $0.13 per $1,000 assessed value for the next five years to fund general operations. The levy was first approved at this rate in 2016. Without renewal, it will expire at the end of the fiscal year and would likely result in cut-backs to the current level of transportation service.

MEDFORD, Ore. Tuesday marks the last day to turn in a ballot for Oregon s May special election. Special elections typically don t get the same attention that November elections do, but the ballot features some important local issues.
Since the deadline to mail a ballot is already past, ballots must be delivered to a valid drop box by 8 p.m. Tuesday evening in order to be counted.
