The storms was expected to bring isolated hail up to the size of a quarter, the agency said, while scattered gusts of wind up to 70 mph are likely. Frequent lightning was possible. Eversource, the state’s largest electrical supplier, reported more than 3,500 customers were without power as of 7:15 p.m., with more than 2,000 outages reported in Danbury alone.
