The Department of Education says it is essential that all candidates confirm their choices, even if their choices haven’t changed, before the Candidate Self Service Portal closes at 6 o clock this evening.

The State Examinations Commission has extended the deadline for Leaving Certificate students to confirm their choices regarding how they wish to be assessed this year.
The deadline for finalising the choice of examinations, Accredited Grades, or both for each subject, as well as the confirming of whether to be assessed for Accredited Grades at Ordinary or at Higher level, was this evening.
However, it has now been extended by 24 hours, with 6pm tomorrow evening the new deadline.

Leaving Cert students have a final chance to choose their exams and subject levels for the receipt of accredited grades next week.
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) online portal will open from noon on Tuesday, April 27th, until 6pm on Friday, April 30th, for candidates to finalise these details.
Under this year’s system students may choose to receive accredited grades, sit written exams or both, and they will receive whichever result is highest.
