Three people reportedly entered and assaulted a man in his 30s, before leaving with some of the victim s personal items - which were later recovered.
Two men and a woman are due before Mullingar District Court this morning following an alleged aggravated burglary in Longford Town this week.
A man suffered serious facial injuries following the violent burglary incident on Great Water Street in the town on Wednesday night.
He was taken to Mullingar hospital for treatment following the incident.

Two men aged in their 20s and 40s as well as a woman in her 20s were arrested and charged over the incident and will appear before the court later this morning.

Two men and a woman charged with an aggravated burglary earlier this week have been released on bail subject to strict conditions before appearing in court again next month.
Three people have been granted bail following a violent incident in Longford earlier this week.
A man and woman both in their 20s and a man in his 40s were charged following the incident on Wednesday night. The three accused appeared at Mullingar District Court this morning following the incident on Wednesday night.
Gardai gave evidence that they responded to an incident reported at 8.45pm. Two men and a woman allegedly entered premises and took the phone and wallet of a man as well as inflicting a number of facial injuries.

Two men and a woman accused of carrying out an aggravated burglary in Longford which left a man in hospital have been granted bail.
Paul Owens (42), 27 Oakvale, Longford, Michael O Brien (25), 4 Fraynes Garden, Kenagh and Shauna Harper, Apartment 1, Take Two, Deanscurragh, Longford appeared at a sitting of Mullingar District Court this afternoon.
Mr Owens, a father of four and a former Dublin County Council employee for 19 years and Mr O Brien were also charged with allegedly carrying out a Section 3 assault on a man after they allegedly entered a business premises on Wednesday night.
