Thursday night, look up at the sky just as the sun begins to setâand you’ll see the Moon glowing orange as it rises above the eastern horizon.
As January’s full Moon continues to rise on Thursday evening, that tangerine glow will fade to yellow, then to a white so bright it’ll hurt to look at with the naked eye.
While in 2020 there were 13 full Moons, this year there’ll be 12 in total: including three supermoonsâthe Full Pink Moon in April, the Full Flower Moon in May, and the Full Strawberry Moon in June.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The night sky will shine bright with a full moon every month in 2021 and skywatchers can look forward to various special celestial events, including three supermoons, a blue moon, and two lunar eclipses.
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac and AccuWeather.com, there will be three supermoons one on April 26 during the Full Pink Moon, May 26 during the Full Flower Moon and June 24 during the Full Strawberry Moon.
