Unheard Bon Scott Music to Be Released

Unheard Bon Scott Music to Be Released A box set containing unheard music written and sung by Bon Scott will be released later this month, Cherry Red Records announced. Before finding fame with AC/DC, Scott fronted Fraternity for four years. In that time, they released two albums, Livestock and Second Chance, which rounds out the new set. A total of 45 songs appear on Fraternity: Seasons of Change – The Complete Recordings 1970-1974. “Scott’s tenure with Fraternity has been poorly documented on the reissue market,” the label said in a statement. “Half a century later, Seasons of Change finally seeks to amend this oversight. Curated in conjunction with surviving band members Bruce Howe, John Freeman, Sam See, John Bisset, Uncle John Eyers (and the estate of Mick Jurd) and their original manager Hamish Henry, this three-CD set seeks to offer the complete recorded output … utilizing the original master tapes and best possible remastering sources.”

Due to be released on January 22 via Cherry Red Records, the box-set includes the band’s two original albums – ‘Livestock’ and ‘Flaming Galah’ – along with their singles, remastered from Henry’s original tapes. Both feature Scott on lead vocals as well as recorder.

Bon Scott s Lost Songs Finally Released After 50 Years

Previously unheard music from AC/DC legend Bon Scott’s former band has finally been released after 50 years in the vault. With the blessing of the surviving members of Australian rock band Fraternity, the group’s full discography from the early 1970s has been released. Fraternity was formed in 1970, predating Bon Scott’s now-immortal reign as AC/DC’s classic vocalist. The band recorded two albums 1971’s Livestock and 1972’s Flaming Galah but the efforts were never officially released and Scott departed from Fraternity in 1973. “Scott’s tenure with Fraternity has been poorly documented on the reissue market. Of the two albums the band had issued at the time,

Fatal wreck remembered in first recorded trucking song

Jan 18, 2021 “Wreck on the Mountain Road” is about the death of a trucker on Bent Mountain, just southwest of Roanoke, Virginia. What was the first recorded trucking song? It s not something I’d thought about until I read a fascinating story, Truck Driver s Blues,  in the journal Automotive History Review. In it, Todd Uhlman, an assistant professor at the University of Dayton in Ohio, answers that question.  The song was “Wreck on the Mountain Road,” recorded by the Red Fox Chasers in 1928, but such trivia is only a small part of what Uhlman s article addresses. He places trucker songs in the context of his own specialty, U.S. socio-cultural history, explaining how each song reflects something of the trucking industry and culture at the time of its release. This year, as
