SHC directs Sindh IGP to ensure recovery, seeks reports from interior, defence secretaries
A two-member bench of the Sindh High Court, headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and comprising Justice Abdul Mobin Lakho, while hearing different pleas in a case pertaining to missing persons sought reports from the federal interior secretary and the defence secretary. The bench directed the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure the recovery of missing persons over separate pleas seeking the recovery of missing persons. The bench expressed annoyance at the federal and provincial governments for failing to recover the missing persons.
Minister visits Sahulat bazaar

SIALKOT: Provincial Minister for Special Education Chaudhry Muhammad Ikhlaq Sunday visited the Sahulat Bazaar established near Jinnah Stadium.
He inspected fruit and vegetables stalls besides checking prices and quality of essential items such as wheat flour and sugar. The minister said the government was making hectic efforts to provide the maximum financial relief to people. The minister directed the officials concerned that essential commodities should be available to consumers at government rates. Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sonia Sadaf, Coordinator PP-36 Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas, PTI local leaders Malik Asif Faisal Boxer, Salman Tahir and others were also present.

Nirmala Jimmi to be nominated as Kottayam district panchayat president
Months after walking out of the United Democratic Front (UDF) following a dispute over power-sharing in the Kottayam district panchayat, the Kerala Congress (M) led by Jose K. Mani is set to take up reins of the local body once again.
According to the KC(M) leadership, 55-year-old Nirmala Jimmi, who won from the Kuravilangadu division, will be nominated as president of the Kottayam district panchayat for a term of two-and-a-half years. A formal announcement regarding her nomination is expected after a meeting of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Monday.
