Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Maryland and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Tropical Storm Isaias from August 3 to August 4, 2020. Federal funding is available to State and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by Tropical Storm Isaias in the counties of Calvert, Dorchester, ad St. Mary’s. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide. Robert J. Fenton, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, named E. Craig Levy, Sr. as the Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal recovery operations in the affected areas.

Federal funding is available to State, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by wildfires and straight-line winds in Douglas, Franklin, Kittitas, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Skamania, Whitman, and Yakima Counties and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation.

SWEETWATER COUNTY Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport Director Devon Brubaker informed the Sweetwater County Commissioners Tuesday that an executive order is now requiring face masks to be worn while at the airport, including areas outside the terminal building, in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. As of 11:59 pm Monday, President Biden’s Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel went into effect nationally, which requires travelers to wear face masks when they are in airports, bus and rail stations, as well as while on passenger aircraft, public transportation, passenger railroads, and over-the-road buses operating on scheduled fixed-routes.
