The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Office at Geneva was established in June 1965. The first Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), Mr Rex Koelmeyer presented credentials on 23 June 1965.The present Ambassador/Permanent Representative H.E. Mr. Ravinatha Aryasinha presented credentials on 19 July 2012. The Mission functions as the Permanent delegation of Sri Lanka to all UN and other international organizations in Switzerland including the World Trade Organization. It also has concurrent accreditation as Sri Lanka s Embassy to the Holy See.The Mission represents Sri Lanka s national interests in various UN and other international organizations based in Switzerland. The Consulate General of Sri Lanka, housed in the Mission premises, provides various consular assistance to the approximately 35,000-strong Sri Lankan community in Switzerland. The Sri Lanka Embassy in Germany has concurrent accreditation to Switzerland.

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese delegation affirmed the important role played by Russia in ASEAN and regional co-operation, whilst applauding the progress made in joint collaboration in recent years.
This affirmation was made during the 17th ASEAN – Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM), which was held virtually on January 26 and was co-chaired by Russia and Indonesia, two co-ordinators of ties between the bloc and the Eastern European country.
The delegation put forward the suggestion that Russia strive to deeply engage in and make further positive contributions to ASEAN-led co-operation mechanisms. This could involve contributions to common efforts to build trust, whilst upholding international law to create an environment of peace, security, and stability, especially in the face of current challenges.

Airlines adjust flights due to bad weather in Hanoi
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines, two carriers under the Vietnam Airlines Group, have announced adjustments to flights to and from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on January 21 due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Two flights from Ho Chi Minh City, VN248 and VN7246, will land at Cat Bi Airport in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
Two others from HCM City, VN7206 and VN320, are to be diverted to the central city of Da Nang, while another from Buon Ma Thuot is to land at Tho Xuan Airport in central Thanh Hoa province.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21: ASEAN has to find ways to collectively mitigate cross-border cybercrime as it prepares to emerge as a competitive digital economic bloc in the post-COVID-19 period, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
In his keynote address at the first ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN1) held in a virtual environment today, Muhyiddin said the main challenge facing the regional grouping in the cybersphere is staying ahead in two principal areas - mitigating cybercrime and advancing the digital economy.
