Police and military personnel outside the August Town Police Station in St Andrew during a major operation that was mounted by the security forces in a section of the community on Monday morning. Five men were killed and seven firearms seized in a joint police-military operation in Bedward Gardens, August Town, St Andrew on Wednesday, beginning at about 4 am. A soldier was also reportedly injured in the operation. Head of the police’s information arm, the Corporate Communication Unit (CCU), Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, confirmed the shooting. Five men were killed and seven firearms seized. The police-military operation is ongoing, they are still out in the field, still in combat, SSP Lindsay told Loop News.
