AMSTERDAM Liberty ARC recently announced the appointment of Paul McAvoy as its new Director of Public Relations and Development. In this position, McAvoy will be responsible for managing the development, implementation and coordination of internal and external public relations strategies and day-to-day media relations.
McAvoy comes to Liberty ARC with a decade of experience in communications and development for non-profit human services organizations. He joins the agency from Maria College, where he served as the Associate Vice President of Advancement and was responsible for overseeing all operations of fundraising, communications, branding and marketing on behalf of the college.
Prior to that, McAvoy was the Director of Marketing and Communications at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, he served as the Senior Communications Specialist at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and he was the Director of Communications for New Hampshire Catholic Charities.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - We may be a few weeks into a new year but scammers are keeping up their same old antics. This time, though, theyâre targeting small businesses.
Scammers are pretending to be a utility company and threaten to cut your power.
âWe had gotten a call on our answering machine here at El Jefe and someone left a message, an urgent message, for the business owner that your power is going to be shut off in 30 minutes if you didnât call back,â Roy Neal, Co-owner of El Jefe Texican Cantina in downtown Charleston, said.

Cushman & Wakefield (NYSE: CWK) has arranged the $65.5 million sale of Harbor Pointe, a 344-unit apartment community located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, within the Charleston metropolitan area. Jordan McCarley, Tai Cohen and Marc Robinson of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, The Crotts Group out of Atlanta, in the transaction. Audubon acquired the property.
“Located in the highly sought-after submarket of Mount Pleasant, Harbor Pointe offers residents convenient access to walkable retail and dining, as well as Charleston’s major economic drivers,” McCarley said.
