Retirement of Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance and Technology Cathy Magiannis Massey University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance and Technology Cathy Magiannis has retired from her role at Massey for family and health reasons, after six years with the university in her senior leadership role. Cathy joined Massey University as a member of the senior leadership team in June 2015 from the Ministry of Education where she was deputy secretary then chief executive of Education Payroll. Her experience spans the public and private sectors; before joining the ministry she was CEO of Gareth Morgan Investments, held senior roles at the Inland Revenue Department, and worked at Treasury and Ernst & Young.
