As the number of cars visiting shopping centres, private car parks and retail outlets increases, so does the risk of receiving a private Parking Charge Notice (PCN).
The Consumer Council is urging consumers who receive a PCN to contact them in the first instance for advice and help in appealing it, within 28 days.
Noleen Charnley, Senior Consumer Protection Officer at The Consumer Council, says, “Nobody wants to end 2020 with a PCN, especially with the additional spending we do already at Christmas.
“If you receive a PCN you have 28 days to appeal it.
“Appeals not received within this timeframe will not be accepted.
