La Crosse s colleges and universities to receive funding through American Rescue Plan

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College will each receive funding through the American Rescue Plan to help them cope with the financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. “There’s no doubt this past year has been hard on our local colleges, universities, and students. Despite the challenges, our outstanding technical colleges and universities here in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District have continued to provide students with a top-tier education throughout this pandemic,” said U.S. Rep. Ron Kind. “Now, this historic investment through the American Rescue Plan will help provide much-needed relief to these valued institutions, ensuring that they are able to recover from the economic difficulties caused by COVID-19 and build back stronger than ever. The success of our local colleges is integral to the success of our communities, and I will continue to work to support our higher education institutions.

Suozzi Announces Winners of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition

The annual competition was open to all high school students living in New York s Third Congressional District. The theme for this year’s competition was: “Hope is a Beautiful Thing: How the beauty of our home, in New York’s 3rd Congressional District, gave you hope to get through the past year.”   “The Third Congressional District is ripe with not only some of the smartest students in the country, but some of the most talented as well,” said Suozzi. “Congratulations to the winners and all of the participants. You are our future, keep expressing yourselves. A special thank you to the parents and art educators for encouraging and supporting these talented students.”
