The COVID-19 case rate in the Three Rivers Health District continued to improve during the past week, with the 10-county district averaging fewer than 15 new cases a day over a seven-day period.
The case rate is improving statewide, as well, with an average of 1,000 new cases a day over a seven-day average, down from an average of 1,200 daily last week.
According to a press release from Dr. Richard Williams, medical director of the Three Rivers Health District, around 45 percent of all Virginians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 51 percent of residents in Three Rivers have received at least one dose. In addition, 77.5 percent of district residents age 65 and older have received at least one dose.
