Hundreds received their COVID-19 vaccine from Three Rivers Public Health Department, Methodist Fremont Health and Methodist Physicians Clinic at their first weekly drive Thursday.
âAll of the individuals that I spoke to were so appreciative, thankful, emotional about getting the vaccine,â Methodist Fremont Health President and CEO Brett Richmond said. âAnd for us, that was just a really neat experience. I think we all felt really honored and privileged to be a part of that and to help our community in that way this morning.â
The entities had clinics at Christensen Field starting Thursday morning. On Tuesday, the three announced they had formed a partnership for the vaccination effort.
Douglas County will start the next phase of vaccinations by limiting them to residents age 80 and older, due to the short supply of vaccines available.The Douglas County Health Department announced Wednesday there will be four community clinics open during the first week of February. They will be limited to those age 80 and up, and participants must pre-register. Douglas County will accept registrations for those age 80 and up starting on Friday, January 29th at 9:00 a.m. at 402-444-3400. This is the only phone number taking reservations. The health department says residents should not call the clinic sites.Those who have registered on line for vaccine information will be notified about what to do next. You can sign-up here.
