GPs begin vaccinating as national Covid vaccine rollout begins

GPs across the country have started the roll-out of the new Covid-19 vaccine, in what has been hailed as a “watershed” moment. Hundreds of local vaccination services run by family doctors and their teams will open across England this week, as the roll out of the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history gains further momentum. Practices in more than 100 parts of the country are taking delivery of the vaccine today, with some kicking off their clinics this afternoon and the majority starting on Tuesday. Groups of health providers are setting up local vaccination centres in villages, towns and cities covering every part of the country.

No decision on Edgar Street stadium refurb until next year, say council leaders

A digital image of how Edgar Street could look in future. HEREFORDSHIRE Council leaders will not make a decision on future refurbishment plans at Edgar Street stadium until next year. Cabinet members were expected to approve the first stage of the project at a meeting in March this year. The initial £14.375m regeneration plans focused on providing student and or key worker accommodation, a community room and spectator provision located on Blackfriars Street at Hereford Football Club. But the cabinet meeting of March 31 was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic so a decision to approve was postponed. Councillors then said in July that a decision on the council-owned stadium project was expected to be made at the end of October.
