A Vass man was arrested on Tuesday morning after he was reportedly held at gunpoint in Eagle Springs by a homeowner, the Moore County Sheriff s Office announced.
Eric Wayne Callahan, 39, of Vass, was charged with one count of attempted first degree burglary, one count of resisting a public officer and one count of assault on a government official.
He was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $350,000.00 secured bond pending a first appearance in District Court on June 16.
The Moore County Sheriffâs Office received a report of an intruder at a home in the Eagle Springs community Tuesday after 5 a.m. Deputies responded to the scene and found a subject, later identified as Callahan, inside of a vehicle at the residence, a release from the office said. An Aberdeen man was charged in possession of a controlled substance on a jail premise after a body scan discovered the substance on his person at the Moore County Detention Center, the Moore County Sheriff s Office reported on Monday.Â
Detectives arrested Jacob Liam Armstrong, 23, of Aberdeen Thursday. Armstrong was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance on jail premise, simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Armstrong was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
During the processing of a new intake at the Moore County Detention Center, detention officers observed an abnormality in a body scan image while utilizing the TEK 84 Intercept Body Scan Device, the release from the office said.

Jackson Stewart Smith, 18, of Vass was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree forcible rape, one count of statutory rape of child under 15 and one count of sexual battery on Monday.

According to a press release issued by the sheriff s office, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at 284Â Circle Drive in Vass on Tuesday. Two victims were found to be suffering from obvious stab wounds, the release said. One victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The other victim died at the scene because of the injuries sustained. Â
