Twenty-two-year-old Benjamin Enderle is charged with felony harassment with bias and felony criminal damage to property.
Enderle is accused of spray painting hate messages at the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center. “Death to Islam” and “Go to Hell” were among the words painted on the building’s exterior.
According to court documents, Enderle admitted to police that he was responsible for the vandalism and said “he did it as a joke.”
Enderle also told police that he “doesn’t hate them” and said he vandalized the mosque “to get a reaction from the community and the media.”

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR KFGO) – Charges have been filed against a Moorhead man in connection with vandalism at a Moorhead mosque.
Twenty-two-year-old Benjamin Enderle is charged with felony criminal damage to property and harassment with bias. The charges are both felonies.
Enderle is accused of spray painting hate messages at the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center. Words including “Death to Islam and “Go to Hell” were painted in several places on the building’s exterior.

MOORHEAD, Minn. A 22-year-old man appeared in Minnesota s 7th Judicial District court on charges of second degree criminal damage to property and harassment with bias in connection with the vandalism of the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center mosque, which was first discovered early Sunday morning.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – A man has been arrested for hate messages spray-painted on the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center.
Moorhead Police say through tips including important information from a employee of a local business, detectives were able to take 22-year-old Benjamin Enderle of Moorhead into custody. Reports have been forwarded to the Clay County Attorney’s Office with the request of charges of felony harassment and damage to property in the second degree.
“These crimes were enhanced due to hate related acts. The Moorhead Police Department appreciates the interest and compassion shown by local citizens, media, and the community as a whole in solving this crime,” the department said.
Police have arrested a man for hate-related crimes.
Moorhead Police say 22-year-old Benjamin Stewart Enderle was arrested Tuesday night in South Moorhead for the hate-related messaging spray-painted on the outside walls of the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center.
The incident happened on April 25th. That s when officers took a report from members of the Mosque who arrived early in the morning to find several hate-based messages.
Moorhead PD says a local business employee also played a major role in finding the suspect.
Enderle has been booked into the Clay County Jail, and the reports have been forwarded to the Clay County Attorney’s Office with the request for Felony Harassment and Felony Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree.
